yes, its an equally plausible statement; however I was only referring to the way USCIS handled the July 2007 fiasco applications. There will always be bit of exceptions here and there. As people have pointed out also, there might be reasons for those exceptions as well. They have various stages in processing a 485 application, so it'll not always be FIFO. There'll be a bit of overlap always.
I was impressed by the way they published the processing dates accurately. Through that, I knew the approximate time-frame they were going to pickup my application. I also could guess reasonably well the time-frame for the RFE hence. I acted goody goody at work during those days then ;)...I knew I will have to request an EVL during this time-period that should match my job duties in the application.

Experiences of friends says - blue collar, jobs that Canadian do not want to do you, you are more than welcome.
But dont ever try to get a White collar job... And if you want to - work as Software engineer - and forget of any career development....

Is it a good idea to contact the Congressman even when 90 days are not over. My EAD expires on 18th September and 90 days will get over on 24th September. I have already put in the expedite request with Texas, but haven't heard since then, whether its approved or not. Please suggest what should I do?

EB3 (I) have been hit hard there should be some effort to get the ball rolling, and I fail to understand why EB2 (I) should get offensive about this effort. EB2 is going to get what they get anyway, but EB3 guys might get somewhere if this kind of concentrated effort is made.
I beleive EB2 will not be affected by this effort, if we draw enough attention we all EBs will get our GC sooner than later.

I have master's degree from US and 6 years of experience
Recently.. EB2 has got more restricted and employers are scared to take this path now... But that does not mean you can't apply as EB2...
Earlier BS+5 years was sure shot.. not anymore...
Still MS+few years (6 in your case) should qualify as EB2.. But Job must be needing a MS qualification.. And its difficult to qualify from job/employer point of view if you are doing mere consulting that any one (MS or BS) can do...
Hire a different lawyer and check with him.. Its mostly upto the lawyer what to do and what not.. Company lawyer will always think in best interest of the company not your's...

This is a very good development. And this time, they are not talking about a complete overhaul of the system. Just increase H1B visas and increase EB visa numbers.

In theory, the idea that a gathering of even 200 people in company's parking lot (Cisco, goolge, microsoft) - IS GREAT.
Immigration Voice has always appreciated efforts of members who get employers involved.
However, I am inclined to believe that company HR will resist such activity on their own premises, especially during business hours or even lunch time. That's because its loss in terms of productivity and distractions for all employees, even those who are US citizens.
BUT...
If someone pulls this off and if there is a gathering to protest green card delays at any of these companies -- Cisco, Oracle, Microsoft, Google, Intel, Amazon...anyone...THEN IV leadership will fly to such an even from wherever they have to fly and attend it at a moments notice (provided your employer allows us in your buildings/premises of course).
Not only that, if you can pull it off, then IV will honor you will a "IMMIGRATION VOICE MEDAL OF HONOR" for doing that. Its a square medal with imprint of GC on one side and EAD card on another side. :):)
So if you can, by all means, pursue that opportunity and email me or Aman on how we can help you do that. Microsoft has 3500 employees in green card wait line in Seattle alone. Cisco is also hundreds of employees in San Jose alone (and Cisco employees is one of my favorite groups of people in IV, they have shown up every where IV has done anything...must be something in the water out there in the bay area, its a land of activists...).

Just conveying a message is not sufficent. It should be the RIGHT message in a proper way. Flowers was good, because it was the first time something like that happened and it was unique.
No, we are not going to abuse this and we won't be sending stuff over and over. But stoppers have a very Specific significance: to educate and differentiate between legal and illegal. A stopper says "Stop the reverse brain drain"...A stopper would pique people's interest becase we are typically lumped in with illegals, and a stopper does not exemplify what illegals are. Illegal immigration's message is: "legalize us and help new guest workers come", our stopper says "We are already legal and are already leaving, fix this before we all leave"

In the state of Mass delivery is covered by the State provided you show you don't have insurance. Millions of single moms are delivering and many are teenagers and many are w/o any insurance. Delivery is considered an emergency and you will be covered. Keep your spirits up and bear the storm.....it always gets darkest before you see light again.
