From their tone, I can tell the were trying hard to be helpful.
But, no receipt for me yet. July 2nd filer here as well.
Should I keep another set of 485 application ready, just in case if I don't hear about check cashing or receipt till august 15th ?
Is there any harm in filing the 485 again (just to be safe).... IF I don't get any indication of action on july2nd app ?

you can directly go to USCIS website and take printout of your approved I-140.
It will not have all informaion but more then enough to change job .
AFAIK , you can only see the text that the said 140 is approved. Did you mean actual copy of the approval ? Some thing that looks like a real approval letter , a scanned copy ?

I have noticed soft LUD's on all receipts including I140, H1B with all other receipts (485, EAD and AP) for my self and my spouse after using AC21 with H1B transfer.
Not received FP yet and did not call Service center for it.
Any clues? or any experienced the same.

seem to be like the three classes in railways in Asia. First (EB1), Second (EB2) and Third (EB3). So unfortunate. :(

very well said goel.. I said the same thing to IV and I got God knows how many reds. The only time I saw a huge impact was after July fiasco but again it was not IV's alone effort, many other organizations were included.
Honestly IV is a great platform to help members with their questions and exchange knowledge about immigration topics but nothing more.. I don't expect the founders to leave their full time jobs to address immigration issues as without a job they won't have any immigration issues.
To people who say that illegals have huge support and resources that is because they have lobby money from businesses who need cheap labor, lawyers who need new clients and politicians who need (future) votes..
In our case business know that first we are not any cheap and second they can move the jobs overseas.. Lawyers already know that they have us by the b***s and politicians flip - flop depending on who they talk to (citizens or us).
I think I have joined IV in last 3 years or so...
Donated money once & have called congressmen & senators many times ...
Could someone please tell me -
What has been achieved by IV till date? I know we all meet elected reps, officials in washington dc ..... but I am interested in end result like not wasting visa numbers , implementing spillover & along these lines.
I have asked few friends to join IV but then if they ask me for IV accomplishments - i can't count any....

That's ok, totally understand.
Sorry, I did not raise my arm to indicate that it was ALL sarcasm. Durbin is aginst H1B. Although his press release says that he is not against green cards, but thats just bull.
And if he is appointed Labor Secretary, that will be the last straw to break the camel's back.

Sorry if this has been addressed before but I'm not really sure how the FBI name check works.
Is that something we all go through or is it at random? Where can we go to see if we are in the process of going through that or if we have gotten passed it already.

Great news! I was never on H4 so it does not really affect me. But any good news for skilled immigration is good news.
Now can we get news on SKIL bill passage or USCIS allowing filing I485 during retrogression?

Looks like this needs correction.Labors expire after 180 days from approval date after July 16th.

Let us see if we can get at least 200 people who vote on this. Many the great souls are talking about complaining to USCIS about EB1s getting GCs using shortcuts. Some of them suggested LET US write to ombudsman office and USCIS & blah blah. Let us see how many folks come forward and vote for this.

Clear IE/Firefox temp cache to view refreshed page. I had to do it (pressing F5 20 times did not make a difference). The dates are now updated to July 16, 2007.

Just file H1B with different company but with same job title and jobe code.
Then ask your attorney to send AC21, it is just a letter with new offer letter.

Sent letters to WH and IV. Besides, I printed 100 copies of the original template and kept them in an Indian grocery store, with the permission from the store owner, although it took a long time to explain our situation to the owner of the shop.

Probably, nothing wrong to discriminate against h1b holders, but discrimination against citizens maybe taken seriously. As such, it is at company's discretion to hire u or not, internally, from what I learnt, if the company decides to hire u, they hire u, if not, they may give u this as a reason because they may have found someone with same skills but without requirement for sponser.
If a company desperately needs u, they will do anything to hire u. If company thinks it must not have to deal with legal issues and overheads, it may not hire u, may keep u on hold.
Basically, we are on our own, and we can only try and try. It is the land of opportunities, and there will be opportunities for everyone somewhere.

to get the receipts. Lets not bug them and have them work instead on receipting. With over 500K+ applications, it'd be a while to get the reciept..
oops did i mention EAD/AP..ur gonna have to wait a really long time on that one.
Can't we request for a temporary EAD 90 days after you receive the notice ? in the local immigration office (For Example in Boston).
