Guys the news is from Yahoo India website. The reporter is for sure homebred for the Indian Express newspaper and you also have to note Immigration is spelt as Emigration there. The reporter must have been an amateur who must have takes notes while on phone without bothering to verify the spelling!
Also note the spelling of Program is spelt as Programme in the article, which shows the roots of this article. Maybe we are blowing things out of proportion.

I dont think that its a good idea to ignore someone who is raising some opposing voice. This is a forum where anyone can raise his or her concerns. I dont think that anyone over here has some hidden agendas or is playing against the main idea of making immigration easier.
We want to encourage debates, debates are good for our cause it gives us a food of thought.

1. if your company pays for everything, why such reluctance to put up a few more dollars for your own cause? think of those that pay for everything themselves and still contribute.
2. each contribution to paypal costs, they take a chunk off it. making small 10 buck contribution is really not the intelligent way to go.
3. there used to be a 20/mnth recurring contribution. now it does no exist. what do you want? should we throw out the original 20 buck guys? of course they can continue doing it. i can't imagine why it would put you off? btw we did not really lose any money by going to a minimum of 50- you know why? those who were serious still contributed. others who were whining at that time (why is there not a 10/mnth option) were in many (though not all) cases not going to contribute anyway. this is just fyi.
4. what is 50 bucks a month? step back and think sometime. a family meal/movie? do you indulge yourself occasionally worth 50 bucks?
i think in many cases the answer is yes. the money we need for lobbying ie very large....it's hard to make it form 20 bucks at a time when barely 5% of the membership contributes.
you have the choice hereof donating 100 now and considering it as two 50 buck donations, so your next one will be delayed. there are various ways of looking at this.

My days in office are slow, I was thinking on how to pass the time, and immigration helps me easily to reach to 5:00 PM. Lets keep discussing this, keep on come on..

Please go and take some english writting classes first. Your english is very poor. Taking some classes will help you in longterm. MBA in US is taught in english not telgu. An MBA from a shady univ is not going to help you anyway and USCIS is cracking down hard on bogus porting these days.

If people do not value IV then IV is not the place for them. IV allowed everyone to file I485 in July and get EADs . You are able to get your EAD freedom because of IV and that is priceless.

For that a new mindset is needed fortified with human resources and budget appropriations. My labor clearance was stuck in SWAs and backlog centers for 3 years. I talked to the SWA officer in charge in my state of CO. He said, this is federal work and there is no money appropriated.
Here is the showcase of how the USCIS works on legal ALIENS(from reliable Ombudsman report):

I used the provisions of AC21 and changed jobs in early 2005. FOIA requests will work for your I-140. I-140 is filed by the employer on your behalf and is therefore your paperwork.
It took approximately two and half months to come through.

Hope, USCIS would allow filing for dependents at a later stage even your PD is not current. :confused:

Efiled @ NSC on may 19th.
FP on july 3rd, still no approval.
My current EAD expires Aug 30th.
1) Requested expedited processing via phone.
Received email saying to wait for next 30 days.
2) Called NSC, agent gave a fax number and asked me to provide Emp letter.
Faxed the Emp letter and also a covering letter.
3) 2 weeks passed, still no reply, called up NSC again, explained situation that I wld lose my job if i dont get EAD extension by this month end. She opened a Expedited request and told me to wait for 10 days.
4) As a back up, I also took infopass appoint for next monday (90 days will be over by then)
Believe me, its not easy going thru these phases.
I do not know how to reach my congressman/senator, Anyone here, pls let me know. I am from fremont, CA.

I am not sure, if this topic has any merit. But, basically what we can learn is that, it is difficult to legally fight corporates, though I do not intend to discourage people, if there is any issue based on race or gender, going to HR may seem to be the right way, but 95% of cases, that will not work in favour of u, rather will work against you, especially being on H1b.
The reason I opened this topic for discussion is to see if it helps folks understand how certain things can affect ur path to GC. This is one aspect that you have to atch out in your journey towards GC.

I guess country quota is root of all our green card related griefs. everybody else can dream of getting a green card someday, but EB-3/EB-2 India & China should stop dreaming about Green cards...I am sure this can be prooved illegal.
Yes true. This is the only angle that is viable in theory. All that can be done is challenge that the per country quota violates the constitution. Then the judge can strike that clause off.

I have sold some items in eBay in the past, If I rememver correctly, when I sold something for $10 and the buyer made a paypal payment, paypal took $1.5 as fees.
So if you are making $20, only $17 goes to IV, IF the amount is >=50 I believe the fees is much lesser (like 5%) so more money goes to IV instead of making paypal rich.

for your kind information, sorry for starting rats comparison here but I came to US about half a dozen years before you. my priority date is 2006 and EB3. also I recognize that there are ppl out there who came earlier than me too. Its very easy to preach 'Life is decided by choices we make', 'your luck/fate, success is decided by your own effort, talent', 'if you have it, ppl will notice it and you will succeed' etc. when you spend the most energetic, productive part of your life in a country, you would expect that country reward you with atleast opportunities to prove your mettle. not to say its immensely painful when ppl who came years and years after you get GC and grow leaps and bounds right in front of your eyes.
P.S. I am not questioning your qualifications or anything.
Just chill man. You're the one who was calling GC garbage can and then spending your most productive years on garbage can. Who spends his most productive years on garbage can? Obviously GC is something bigger for you.
Anyway, best of luck and have fun with familiy. Don't take too much stress...hopefully Obama will do something and everyone will have GC in 2-3 years. chill. Indians and Chinese have a disadvantage in this GC race and it affects all of us. A guy from Argentina already has GC and we applied at the same time. I also see these things around me but we can't do anything. We chose it.
