Called them all, had to leave a VM for Gary Miller, but for all others, i was able to talk to one of the staff, who were glad to pass the message along.

As Pappu mentioned, the $ 64,000 figure is not a typo. That indeed is the money that was spent by him individually. Logiclife and others made trips to DC,air travel, hotel etc.. does add up real fast. All the expenses on these travels have been borne by the individuals and have not been reimbursed. More than 99 % of the IV funds has been used for advocacy efforts and getting council.
The kind of commitment shown by Aman and logiclife is unparallel and they deserve our salutes and wishes. Also, do not forget to contribute to Immigration Voice. What we have achieved is interim relief, there has more work to be done in the future.

Hi All,
You know my old H1B case was reopened on Sept. 28, and the USCIS Emailed me that they sent a notice. But I haven't received such notice, my employer/attorney also didn't receive any notice. I wonder the USCIS didn't send this notice at all!

Let's pick up where we left off before this July 2 visa bulletin debacle (and the resulting struggle). Though the whole fiasco did get us our first taste of success, imho, and as such isn't insignificant by any measure.

Does someone have an experience of application process, so that i send in the right papers, before leaving here. i mean the set of documents to send to DOL, so that i do not miss out on something important which could nail him to the maximum
If you really want to hit him hard call ICE as well and let them know. If there are similar testimonials from several employees, he is done

With hard 7% limit per country; our numbers within EB category are at 10,000 (it's not a huge number even if we apply 7% on EB+FB).
There are at least 250,000 people waiting on GC from India alone, at this rate it will take 25 years.

Same thing is happening to my wife's RFE response too. We have submitted the response to her RFE (Birth certificate Affidavit) on 04/24. I have received an e-mail on the very same day from USCIS that thay have received the response and the case process resumed. I saw soft LUD's on 04/27, 04/28. I guess it will stop after couple of more soft LUD's as our PD's are not current. I assume we are okay as long as we do not get more RFE's on the same issue.:)

As IV is willing to help those having issues with employers by providing a platform and interfacing with DOS, USCIS, DOL, Media, lawyers and support in any form - nothing stops people from standing up for themselves and report an abusive employer.
If your causes are genuine, please do not be afraid to stand up for yourselves, IV is there to support you

it is pure exploitation of physicians on j1/h1 visas. And everyone know about it, including the law makers.
People finishing residencies and fellowships on j1 visa go through some unscroplous lawyers and agencies and manage to get a waiver job by spending at least 20 to 25K.

FRAGOMEN and the American Council on International Personnel (ACIP) will continue to work with the government at all levels for some kind of relief, but again the form of any potential relief is uncertain."
Why is the above important? Because it's a window into their mindset. Like any responsible corporate firm they wanted to sound a little empathetic but didn't want to give false hopes by saying a reversal was possible though they probably knew the outrage among potential filers who had been dealt a nasty blow below their belt. But VB disaster was one issue where there was not even the slightest doubt that what had happened was horribly wrong and cruel that even some cold-hearted anti-immigrants were confused for a day or two and didn't know what to say because they didn't want to pile on our heartache. The way CIS works had, like any bureacracy over time become a cold and heartless beast but since they deal mostly with non-citizens who have little rights and feel so unsecure and unwelcome in the first place to ever speak out, they were never going to know how their actions are wreaking havoc on their customers lives. So unless affected people come together and act they are never going to know how bad it sucks to be on this end of the divide. And ofcourse it's not all CIS - they are just an arm of the government carrying out the law. it's going to be next to impossible to do anything without congress stepping in. And while Fragomen is definitely not lying when they say they will work for some relief and probably are given that their partners often show up on congressional hearings, they won't lose sleep over it nor will their passion levels be anywhere near that of those who are directly at the receiving end of this current ugly messi.e iv and it's browsers.
