But, woudn't the 75% of 140K quota for next two years be consumed by ROW applicants who are about to apply. Becoz they are current wouldn't the VISA number go to them..
All the above calculations I guess are assuming that the entire 140K will be given the pending 485 application..May be I am missing something.
Even if we add the flow of application from 'Current' categoreis, your statement still holds true.

In the world according to Dobbs, those are the rich and powerful business interests that are constantly conspiring against the interests of hard-working Americans in the middle class. For the most part, the plotting takes the form of pushing trade agreements and supporting sensible and comprehensive immigration reform. According to Dobbs, those things serve the interests of big business but undermine the interests of the rest of us.
So wealthy corporations are out to crush middle-class Americans?
What nonsense. Those are the same Americans that corporations depend on to build their labor force, buy their stock and purchase their products. If these Americans don't do well, our economy falters. And that's not good for corporations, or anyone.
Nor is childish and irresponsible rhetoric good for public discourse or the country as a whole.
This is the world's healthiest economy, and a country with just 4.7 percent unemployment. Of course, there is anxiety, as there always is in a global economy with so many unknowns. As the world changes, it's only natural for Americans to feel some unease.
Shows like Dobbs' don't help. By providing Americans with convenient foils to blame for their troubles � from illegal immigrants to the Chinese to now those dreaded corporate supremacists � Dobbs makes it easy for Americans to escape the consequences of their own life choices. No wonder that message is popular. It's easier to blame someone � or something � for your problems than to do the hard work necessary to solve them.

How do you know when the process begins and how do you find out if your name clears or is stuck like so many others?
Call (in the morning) 1-800-375-5283 and follow this sequence: 1,2,2,6,1,1,1,3,4.
If the Immigration Officer is kind enough you can ask if the Name Check is cleared. If he/she says No, you can ask him/her the date it was sent to the FBI.

I am seeing people getting multiple #A numbers and delays.
If you have filed multiple I485s, pls share your expiences here.
You mean you know of some people who filed multiple 485s in July/August and have got 2 different A#s?
We are still waiting for a response for our second application (filed in Aug). We had A#s on our I-140s so mentioned the same A#s on both applications and also noted in the second filing that one is already pending.

Group:
I am ready for anything GC, conditional GC or Citizenship which ever comes first. If it is required funding we can start a new funding drive. But we need to start actively. Still I beleive that we should ask for conditional GC first because USCIS itself can make a rule to give a conditional GC for people who are waiting for GC more than 5 years and staying legally in this country last 10 years.
We need to collect friends who are in same situation.
We should take advise from attorney if they can give some kind of help.

You have to be kidding! Here people are crying to get there EAD's extended and you think the Govt will give us citizenship???
Please i suggest everyone to wake up and smell the coffee/chai.
If you think giving us citizenship will be easy becoz it will prop up their vote bank think again coz it will never happen. Imagine the headlines which says recession time 10M americans out of job, foreign workers to get citizenship LMAO!
Forget this ever happening in a recession time and not much of a chance in the boom time either, see how the Anti-Immi's will eat everyone up for this ridiculous suggestion, please remember we're nothing in the larger scheme of things for the decision making people, we need to understand our limitation and strengths and play by them, IV does a decent job of that.

Thanks for the excellent analysis. One question, your analysis assumes category excess visas goto next category on a per country basis, is this correct ?
Example, EB-1 china number goto EB-2 China ? I thought all EB-1 China numbers are added to the excess pool and then given to most retrogressed EB2 category ?

I didn't get the phone# for USCIS compaint dept. But some one(may be ashres11) posted one phone#18003238603 for DHS. I called that number and it turned out Inspector General office. As i reported earlier. He told me to call regular USCIS 800. I said it's useless. He took some note and asked to call this new number 877-246-8253.
