I believe best mode's analysis is correct based on the following from the daily dairy

My interpretation: the vote was not on Cornyn's amendment; ...; it was out of order because it did not qualify as an amendment to this bill.
Because 40 Dems voted no on the waiver does not mean they are opposed to the amendment; they just did not want to vote on this amendment on this bill.

Sukekha.com is the most visited website for INDIANS in NORTHEAST....for all classifields. Would it be very expensive to put up some banners in LEADING indian websites where lot of INDIAN IT people visit.

Don't worry about this bill being rejected. I am pretty sure one way or the other they need to increase the EB visa number soon, else definetely USCIS will be in big trouble with thousands of applications sitting there for them, now having said that USCIS will find a way to get some bill which will have EB visa count increased passed in congress, so untill then cheer up and complete your filing.:) :) :)

We do not work for less and we are not paid less...may be they deduct our Gc expenses but not much

llc and s-corp are same for the situation you brought up... however, you gotta be mindful of the "corporate veil"... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piercing_the_corporate_veil trap... which can affect any company llc or corp... dont worry, there is nothing bad in it... just make sure that you keep real good records and separate business operations from personal...
further i doubt that s-corp or corp is a promotion over llc as your post seems to suggest...
anyway... your choice is not bad... and neither is mine...

But I always had the notion of starting any venture as an LLC and then moving on to a corp.

So you want a Greencard? Before you are too old to actually do something with it?
You've worked all your life to get something decent back. Went to decent schools, worked hard in your 10th and 12th grade, earned your bachelors. Now what?
"Hey, Look, US is hiring IT people". 24 hours of flight. You land in America. Life is one sweet deal. You are making money in dollars. Japanese cars. Japanese cellphone. American salary. Italian food. Camcorders. Big Screens. Nice laptops. Las Vegas. Cruises. Pride in work. Pround parents at home.
Life is swell.
But then its temporary. You need green-card to make it permenant. Then our of nowhere, the word "Retrogression" hits you and ruins your party. You start praying. Look at visa bulletins. Make sure you stop browsing too much internet at work and start working harder to make sure your project lasts longer and you can keep extending your H1s forever.
There is ANOTHER WAY. Its called REACTING to the problem by DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
People like you and I, who have lost our sleep due to retrogression have gathered together and joined hands to pool resources and hire a professional lobbyist to help push legislation in congress that will raise EB Greencard quota and allow you to file for I-485 even if priority dates are not current.
The organization is www.immigrationvoice.org.
Go there. Read the mission of the org. Its non-profit. Its free to join/volunteer and contribute your thoughts. See if its something you can relate to. If you feel comfortable and can trust, then contribute money. If not then you can still post on threads and forums and contribute your thoughts and give ideas. It still beats sitting and doing nothing about something that hurts us so much. After all that you have been thru, why stop now and sulk? Why not act?

Which service center? Guys, is this the normal trend? I guess the processing times webpage is showing ~ 3 months.
It looks like not many people are applying for AP renewals, this is simply my observation based on traffic on this topic in IV.
Nebraska Service Center (paper filing). Applied on March 12 and received approval May 10th.

oh yeah ...well atleast it helped someone. btw did you get your $2.00 payout :-) from bear stearns. the problem comes when senior members have the my way or the high way attitude. and for ordinary folks like us the "My way" attitude is not producing any visible results. and I guess since you are out of work now since BS is no longer there --can you come up with a better approach ??

IV has an agenda and list of action items, and we all members need to actively participate. The outcome no body can guarantee because there are so many political interests and people pulling and pushing the immigration debate everywhere. However, the more we keep on pressing for our needs and educating the general population and the lawmakers about our situation, the more likely we will get help.
Its not like the IV core has things written on stone. They do listen to ordinary members like us but there isn't enough resources to engage in every "good idea". They best way to participate is through state chapters, and let the IV core know through the state chapters. At the end, we need volunteers to do the things we want to do.

i am not sure why you think kavya wont excel in her life - she already has a great headstart with close to 40grand in winnings! i also dont know why you think she will end up working for a non-ivy league educated manager - & even then why its a bad thing to win a spelling bee..too many gaps or leaps in thoughts/logic?!
If you come across and experience families who make their kids to go through the labor (hell) then and then only you would understand what he is trying to say. The other way of experiencing is to watch the pattern and construct of these spelling bees carefully and apply your own thinking process. Once you do this you would almost agree what logiclife was trying to throw to us.Spelling Bee competition, though make a child well aware about the roots of the words (latin, Greek roots) and provide enough exposure to the kid to understand the English language in its essence, it does not teach a kid how to think, how to become creative and innovative.
Of course nobody can generalize that particular winninng kid will/may/won't/may not do good in life but more or less these are not the competitions through which parents with reasoning or thinking ability would let their children go. Yes there are some advantages but if you try to enlist then list of disadvantages would become lengthier..

Unless all of the 10,000 immigrants are going to bring money from their respective countries to buy homes, it is not going to change anything signficantly. You are proposing to take the money that is in the system, i.e asking banks to lend you money. The current crisis is credit crunch. Banks dont have money. All they have is mortgage bonds. There are no takers of these bonds. They are becoming junk. So, if any money from outside flows in, there will be some difference.
